Dr Magali Eben joined the University of Glasgow as a Lecturer in Competition Law in August 2019. She previously taught EU and UK Competition Law, as well as European Union Law (in particular EU citizenship and freedom of movement), at the University of Leeds, during her time as PhD student.

She holds a bachelor and master’s degree in law from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium) and LLM from the University of Leeds (in comparative corporate and financial law).

Her PhD thesis is entitled ‘Addressing the Main Hurdles of Product Market Definition for Online Services: Products, Price, and Dynamic Competition’ (http://etheses.whiterose.ac.uk/26343/).

In this short contribution Magali explains how competition law is seen as a tool to reach sustainability goals and she (re)considers the wisdom of our enduring belief in the competitive market.
